Is Windows Vista Better Than Windows XP?

Recently, my Dell Inspiron 9400 installed with Windows XP Professional acting really weird. I cannot access any programs! Whenever I tried to run some programs, the system will tell me "The path is not exist.", including Task Manager and all Control Panel programs. I try to start my laptop in Safe Mode, edit the Registry and remove the run on startup programs one by one. After two hours of checking, symptom remains. I try to use System Restore to the earliest possible point then, but still won't help.

As my Dell Inspiron 9400 actually comes with Windows Vista Home Premium but I downgraded it to Windows XP Professional when I bought it a year ago, I suddenly decided to revert back to Windows Vista. After all, it has been quite some time since Vista being released. It should be stable by now.

After using Vista for almost one week, I can conclude that Vista is now a better option than Windows XP. All compability issues seems to have solved, and I do notice there is a bit improvement on graphics applications like Illustrator and Photoshop. And there is noticeable in responsiveness in doing every other thing as well.

If I am to recommend a friend in which operating system to get now, I will definitely recommend Vista.
